North Norfolk is not a place you just happen upon by chance. You need to plan you journey and road links are not the best either with no motorways in the county. It was a family wedding that drew me back to an area I had not visited for some years and I was reminded what a tranquil and beautiful area of outstanding natural beauty it is.
But that apart once you get to the area, it is inspiring landscape and different to other parts of England. For a start the houses look different and have a unique local style of their own.
The A149 road wends its way along the north Norfolk coast from Hunstanton to Cromer. Take a while to explore Burnham Market, Blakeney and Wells-next-the-Sea to name but three.
There are some great golf courses, wetlands and wildfowl sanctuaries, stately homes and some of the most spectacular beaches you will find anywhere in England.
