Worcester Cathedral images on a grey day!

Worcester Cathedral as viewed from below beside the River Severn

I have been meaning to get down to Worcester to take some photos of the ancient and historic Worcester cathedral for some time. This impressive building is set in the heart of the city itself on the banks of the fast flowing River Severn. Indeed on the day I was in town, the river was running very fast and looked dirty and very uninviting!

Worcester cathedral, which is the resting place of King John whose tomb is resplendent in the heart of the nave, is a stunning building in a fabulous location and is really worth a visit. Sadly I chose a rather grey day to make my visit, yet there are some interesting photos that give a good representation of the main building, the architecture and features surrounding it.

Return visit to Worcester Cathedral

I certainly plan to make a return trip to Worcester Cathedral on a more inviting day for photography when the sun is shining. That said, the interior of the cathedral is spectacular too and that can be photographed in any weather conditions, which I will do next time!
